House Cleaning @ Red Hill
01 Mar 2026

On the morning of March 1st at around 8am, about 30 Keeping Hope Alive volunteers gathered at Redhill to work on an elderly uncle's home.

We moved items out to the staircase area for sorting. A bedbug-infested mattress had to go, along with damaged furniture like broken tables and cabinets. Several other items showed signs of bedbug infestation and needed clearing as well. While we worked inside, the uncle swept the corridors outside.

We sorted through his belongings carefully - personal items, clothing and shoes, kitchen utensils, food, recyclables, and general waste, each in their own category. The team cleaned the house thoroughly, washed the toilet, and applied fresh paint to the walls.

Over the next few days, sponsors will be replacing essential furniture for the uncle - a fridge, water heater, standing fan, mattress and pillow, bed frame, dining table with two chairs, and a carpet. Some items have already been delivered and installed.

By the time everything is in place, the uncle will have a clean, safe, and functional living space to call home.
